Costco confirms mass closure of its U.S. branches on Nov. 27

If for some strange reason you needed to buy a giant pallet of toilet paper on Thanksgiving Day at Costco, we have bad news for you. As it does every year, warehouse retailer Costco has confirmed that it will close its doors during this national holiday at all of its locations in the United States. Not only do they have a business model based on annual memberships, irresistible prices, and industrial formats, but they also have a corporate tradition of letting employees spend time with their families.

Costco may not be open on the last Thursday of November, but it already has the perfect solution to ensure your Thanksgiving dinner is a resounding success. If you don’t feel like complicating your family dinner this year, but want to serve a gourmet meal that will delight all your guests, the complete gourmet turkey dinner is now available for pre-order.

Costco on Thanksgiving

Unlike retail giants Walmart and Target, Costco has always preferred to close on this holiday. While other competitors often open with limited hours on holidays, Costco chooses to close completely. There are no Black Friday deals in physical stores; they prefer to value their employees’ time with their loved ones. Thanksgiving is one of seven federal holidays that Costco marks in red on its calendar in the United States; it also closes on New Year’s Day, Independence Day (July 4), and Christmas Day.

But don’t worry, it will only be closed for one day, reopening on Friday, November 28. In fact, some stores will reopen with special early morning hours to kick off the long-awaited Black Friday sales.

You may not be able to go to Costco on November 27 to buy the cranberry sauce you forgot until the last minute, but you can delegate the entire process of making a Thanksgiving dinner directly to them… That way, you’ll know you won’t forget a thing. We’re talking about the Pre-order Complete Gourmet Thanksgiving Turkey Dinner. Unlike Walmart’s Thanksgiving menuโ€”which this year has broken records for low and affordable pricesโ€”this one has a much more gourmet touch, perfect for impressing even the most snobbish foodies in your family.

Costco’s Gourmet Thanksgiving Menu

This isn’t just a payment, but a complete feast designed to serve eight people. For only $199.99 USD, you’ll get a menu weighing approximately 28 pounds of food, perfect for ensuring no one goes hungry and leaving leftovers to make turkey sandwiches in the days to come. The main course is a five-pound turkey breast. It’s already boneless, comes whole, and is high quality from Amish farms and has been free-range. No more fighting with a turkey in the oven and trying to debone it and then reheat it. This year you can forget about all that hassle, it comes pre-brined so it doesn’t require final roasting.

The other side dishes are:

  • a tray of mashed potatoes (3 lbs.),
  • turkey gravy (24 oz.),
  • tray of mac and cheese (3 lbs.),
  • tray of sweet corn (3 lbs.),
  • tray of green bean casserole (3 lbs.),
  • tray of St. Claire stuffing (3 lbs.),
  • a pack of cranberry relish (20 oz.)
  • a dozen gourmet dinner rolls,
  • a whole pumpkin pie (2 lbs.)
  • a tray of apple cobbler (2 lbs.)

Sounds appetizing, doesn’t it? If you’re interested in this menu, you can order it online until next Friday, November 14. It will be shipped to your home fully frozen via FedEx, and all you’ll have to do is reheat โ€“or bakeโ€“ according to the instructions. If you still have Vietnam flashbacks of how you spent several days enslaved in the kitchen the last time you hosted Thanksgiving, only to have your family and friends complain about absolutely everything, it seems like a very affordable price to pay $200 and forget about the menu. As always, Costco comes to the rescue!
