James Fishback, a Republican candidate in Florida, has called for public schools to require students to wear uniforms. The CEO of an investment firm and conservative influencer, who is among the candidates running for governor of the state, announced the plan via X. Fishback, who previously promised to implement a 50% “sin tax” on OnlyFans creators, now says he wants to see all Florida public school students in uniform. This has sparked debate among state residents.
“As Governor of Florida, I will require all public school students to attend school in uniform” – James Fishback
Conservative candidate and CEO James Fishback continues to launch proposals he intends to implement if elected, in addition to calling for changes from current Governor Ron DeSantis. “As Governor of Florida, I will require all public school students to attend school in uniform,” Fishback wrote on social media. One commenter asked Fishback to address the cost of the uniforms for families, and he clarified, posting, “Parents will get a $250 uniform stipend per child.” The discussion didn’t end there, as many users weighed in on the candidate’s proposal, to which Fishback responded: “Enough with the tracksuits. Enough looking like the Migos in our public schools,” Fishback said. “You show up dressed for success, twice a month with a tie, but the rest of the time in a white polo shirt and a jacket,” Fishback clarified.
Miami is considered the platform’s national capital
As mentioned above, this isn’t the only proposal the candidate has put forward. Fishback is also campaigning to eliminate H-1B visas for foreign workers, cancel artificial intelligence data centers, and abolish property taxes, following the same line as DeSantis. All of this comes on top of the fact that James Fishback generated considerable controversy when he proposed creating a 50% “sin tax” on OnlyFans models in the state, where Miami is considered the platform’s national capital due to having the highest proportion of these creators in the United States.
“As Florida governor, year one, I will push for the first-of-its-kind OnlyFans No Tax” – James Fishback
So, the candidate’s proposal was widely commented on television, in the media and of course, on social networks. “As Florida governor, year one, I will push for the first-of-its-kind OnlyFans No Tax,” Fishback said during an interview with the conservative YouTube channel NXR Studios. “If you are a so-called OnlyFans creator in Florida, you are going to pay 50% to the state on whatever you so-called earn via that online degeneration platform.”
And the situation doesn’t end there. Apparently, the money raised would be used to fund the education system, crisis centers for pregnant women, and the creation of the state government’s “first czar” in charge of men’s mental health, the candidate explained. Regarding the OnlyFans platform, according to data from Madhouse Labs, the city has 1,110 creators per 100,000 residents, the highest ratio in the United States. For his part, Fishback has been clear: “As governor of Florida, I will not allow OnlyFans to exploit young, intelligent, and capable women.” According to the data, Miami is the fourth city in the world that spends the most on the platform, $374,921 per 10,000 inhabitants in 2025, according to the specialized website ‘OnlyGuider,’ while the second is Orlando, also in Florida, with spending of $466,430.
Fishback also stated that the tax would aim to discourage women from performing on the platform. Specifically, the candidate said he doesn’t want young women “selling their bodies online to sick men” instead of “being mothers” and “raising children.” Fishback is running against candidates like frontrunner U.S. Rep. Byron Donalds and Lt. Gov. Jay Collins, the latter of whom announced his candidacy earlier this month. We’ll have to wait and see how the proposals from both sides develop and await the elections, scheduled for November 3rd.
